Maui 2016 - Lay Over in Vancouver

Image
I've been wanting to post my other trips on here but it was so tedious to scroll back 2 years in my camera roll BUT I realized you can add from albums! So here we go. In January of 2016 my dad and his siblings planned a trip to Maui, Hawaii, and I knew I had to go. My dad's family is spread out over a few provinces so the chance to see everyone at the same time sealed the deal. I also leaped at the chance to make memories with my Dad and after going to Jamaica with him he was very interested in travelling more. If you don't follow my fitness blog my dad passed away in May last year after 4 days in the hospital from a massive stroke. I'll forever treasure this trip with him because it was the last one we had together. Seriously people, don't let life pass you by. Spend time with your loved ones and make sure you tell them often how much they mean to you. I had coffee with my dad 3 hours before his stroke. You truly have no idea when they won't be th...

New Zealand, Day #14 - Our Last Day and Tips for Hiking in New Zealand

Image
Saturday, March 3, 2018: Sad day :( I always have mixed feelings when it's time to go home. I'm a homebody but I love travelling to see new places. I'm sad about leaving the warm weather for the snow storm that is normally happening when it's time for me to return. I'm happy about seeing my kitties and sleeping in my own bed. I'm sad about leaving the people I'm there to see or who I've been travelling with. I'm happy to be back in the comfort of my own home. So many mixed feelings. Our flight wasn't until 8PM so we had some time to go shopping on Queen St. For a small city they have awesome shops on their downtown strip and it feels like shopping in a much larger city. I ended up only buying a tank from Cotton On and a few souvenirs from the souvenir shops. Nisha got some sweet Oakleys to become part of the shiny blue sunglass crew. Bar in the Auckland airport - I thought it looked pretty cool. The excruciatingly lo...

New Zealand, Day #6 - Nevis Swing, Roys Peak

Image
Friday, February 23: Big things happened this day. Tarun and Nisha did the Nevis Swing and we conquered Roys Peak. We grabbed a quick breakfast from this lovely cafe. Coffee was hot and delicious and the croissant was soooooooooo yum. I still dream about it. 😍😍 Before the plunge! They're so photogenic.. even moments before being swung down a 300m arc. Quite the death grip They survived to tell the tale. We stopped for a photo shoot on the way to Roys Peak 😊 And so starts the climb to Roys Peak. It's located in Wanaka which is just over an hour drive from Queenstown. We ended up getting here quite late. There was a traffic jam due to construction that held us back about an hour. Nisha and I wanted to turn around after half an hour but Tarun was persistent that it would move soon. And it did... for about half a km until it halted again for 15 minutes. We started at 3:25PM and it's noted to be a 5-6 hour hike on...
