Mexico 2019, Day #5 - Shopping in Tonala, Canadian Embassy, and Back to La Penita

Thursday, March 7, 2019 We had an early start this day too because it is a 3 hour drive from Guanajuato to Guadalajara where my mom needed to go to the Canadian consulate. She was told to be there for 10AM.  We stopped for breakfast at a restaurant on the side of the highway about an hour and a half from Guanajuato. They had big vats of meat cooking outside when we pulled up. The ladies and Salvador ordered this giant plate of pork and had pork tacos for breakfast. I had eggs and beans. Cheryl, Christine, and I got dropped off in Tonala to do some shopping while the others went to the consulate. It wasn't necessary for all of us to go and they probably wouldn't have let all of us in there. They didn't even let Salvador in because he forgot his ID at a store in Guanajuato. This seat was so hot, almost burned my butt lol. We got some shaved ice that had fresh fruit syrups on it. I got vanilla and strawberry. For some reason our sel...

Maui 2016, Day #5 - Chill Day

Image
Wednesday, February 3, 2016 We hit up the beach again this morning and went back to the condos to have lunch together. Crystal and I walked around to do some shopping down the street from where we were staying. I bought a new bikini top and everything else was too expensive for me haha. We lounged around the pool for a bit in the afternoon and then moved to the yard on the patio. It was quite lovely just chilling in the sun and enjoying the company. Since Uncle Terry had been in the hospital for 4 days he wanted to get out. Pretty much everyone went for the drive except me and Crystal again and I think Uncle Dwayne. We hit up Moose McGillicuddy's for happy hour after dinner and then walked to the beach for a sunset photoshoot. We finished the day off with some TV and hanging out in our jammies. Saturday, March 3, 2018: Sad day :( I always have mixed feelings when it's time to go home. I'm a homebody but I love travelling to see new places. I'm sad about leaving the warm weather for the snow storm that is normally happening when it's time for me to return. I'm happy about seeing my kitties and sleeping in my own bed. I'm sad about leaving the people I'm there to see or who I've been travelling with. I'm happy to be back in the comfort of my own home. So many mixed feelings. Our flight wasn't until 8PM so we had some time to go shopping on Queen St. For a small city they have awesome shops on their downtown strip and it feels like shopping in a much larger city. I ended up only buying a tank from Cotton On and a few souvenirs from the souvenir shops. Nisha got some sweet Oakleys to become part of the shiny blue sunglass crew. Bar in the Auckland airport - I thought it looked pretty cool. The excruciatingly lo...
